I think that this piece of propaganda is showing that the city will do anything to get a cheaper price.
these people do not care how well trained someone is as long as they do the job, and for little to no cost.

This is just ridiculous...
Cities making cuts for profit gain?
You would think they would come up with something else.

I agree with kenny that they want city or town problems done for little or no cost.

people don't care how the job is done, as long as they spend the least ammount of money. While others, are being paid more to stand around and do nothing.

The point is that we are paying people absurd amounts of money to do jobs that aren't even worth the amount they are getting paid for, when the same job could be done for a lot less money.

Wow...just goes to show how lazy people in America are these days... nobody wants to be the blue collar worker. Everyone is going off to college to be their own boss but, the problem now is that too many people are doing the same thing and work isn't getting done any faster with these spare " bosses" laying around.

I agree Eric and Kenny America is looking for eveything to be cheaper. They just want it to get done.

Im sorry but I think you guys are all wrong. This picture is trying to depict city workers and labor unions as lazy, slow, and expensive workers. Not trying to say that they are better and that the government is trying to save a buck! Its like that joke "how many guys does it take to change a light bulb?" "3, 2 to watch and one to do it!"

Danny Candeias (for President)

this piece shows that the city will do anything for a very cheap price and doesnt even bother to take good care of there city and if the person isnt that well qulified thry will hire them.and some people are working hard and some are watching other people work hard.

i agree with melissa they are just getting people cause they need them they dont care if there good or not

This shows how they want to cut down on cities prices and jobs. I think thats sad becauses a lot of parents need to feed there childeren and right now its hard out there to get a job.

What i get from this comic is that the government wants to reduce spending on things where less money can be spent. When a cop works at a construction site they are earning MUCH more than their normal wage. standing around a construction site can easily be done by a civilian for less money. I think that this is a good call by the government seeing the state of our national debt.

ZACH TAVARES!!!

I think what this is about is that the gov. is paying police officers way too much money for being on construction sights when they aren't even doing anything. And that they could pay a regular person for less cash. I think... I'm not very good at interpreting these. I don't think it's about America being cheap. Whats so bad about wanting things for less money? As long as it's just as good value....

it doesnt matter to me, as long as someone does the job

This cartoon is right. Every time I drive by construction I always see atleast three or four guys standing around watching the other people work hard.It doesn't make sense.

i think this cartoon is saying that the city will hire anyone- with experience or without experience- to do the jobs for less money and not enough effort to make it well done.

i think that other people should be at work with others

yes others watch people work and get money but if a cop isn't their and a car drives through a construction who is going to stop the car no one their has the athoraty to stop them and take them to jail.

People still get payed to just stand there and watch the other people work hard and now people only want the job done and dont care.

I don't seem to agree with most people on this. I think the cartoon is about how the goverment/towns/highway departments are all waisting their money by hiring a bunch people to do jobs that require a couple people to do.

I agree with Casey. I think this picture is saying that these cities and towns are paying people tons a money to do a job that will really only take a couple of men. So the towns and cities are really just wasting there own money.

I think this cartoon shows that some will work to get money but others are just wanting to get free money.
I also think that some are willing to do the job but others wont let them because the think that others will be cheeper in other people doing the same work.

The message of this cartoon shows that some people let the other workers do the work for them while the people watching (usually) get higher pay.

I think it means that the government is waisting their money in a way by over paying police officers to do a job that civilians could be doing for a cheaper price, and they are the ones who need the money.

I tink that this is a great cartoon to symbelize what most town or state laboirers are like except that most of them dont work at all.

Anonymous said...

I agree with just about everyone. This cartoon does show that they will do anything, no matter if the person is well trained or not. They will do anything for a cheaper price because we are down badly in debt.

it just shows how some people are watching other workers work in the cities which is them trying to get cheaper prices.

Zach Tavares made a good point. I think this comic is showing how people just stand around watching while doing could be done for so much less and save a lot of money.
