After George leaves office i highly doubt he will regain his once "great " popularity as once before. I think George is going to have a hard time back in the every day life since it seems that so many people hold a grudge agienst him as a person and president. basically the dude needs help.

He has been blamed for many things as driving our country to the ground, said that the terrorist attacks were known and not taken care of, and more that are much to extraneous to list them all. I agree with them ... but not totally. I think that with all the stress and bad publicity that Bush has had he needs to take it easy for a while after he's done with his last term in office. He will Definatley need to get used to a normalish life again. To what MReagan said, he actually could go to rehab again because he used to be an alcoholic.

I don't understand what kind of help you are all talking about. When i read the article it seemed as if the author wasn't literally talking about rehab like the place, but rehab in gaining respect from others again.

I think Bush will gain popularity faster than expected because after his term ends he can be himself which isn't how he is now because he has to at least try to conform to the wants and needs of the American people while in the white house but when his term ends he can tell us how he really feels about the war and well everything (I don't know if anybody remembers but about 90% of America wanted the war when it first started so Bush did what WE wanted because thats his job, to lead the country how WE want it not how he wants it) so yea i think his popularity will spike once we start hearing HIS voice more often.

Dlaine hit the nail on the head and im going to continue what they said, Can you imagine being in Bush's shoes he wasnt actually a terrible republican leader, when we threw him into office we knew what he wanted to do and we also influenced many of the things he did, by going to a war that drained money taxes would have to increase, The economy wasnt him, that was our banks lending loans to people that couldn't pay them back, which takes billions of dollars out of the economy adding to inflation and adding to our debts, local and international. I think that if people look back and think of it as that, he will have a great chance at becoming popular again, but if we only look at the things he did muck up on and the things we voted and suaded him on that didnt end up so swell he will remain infamous and disliked

I really agree with DLaine. We did want this war, now we're all sour grapes on George Bush for listening greatly to the American people. I am not a Bush fan, by any means, but saying that he "needs help" is a bit blunt. He did do many controversial things and things we may not like as tax payers, but there will always be those presidents who just have a tough term.

I think Bush is a nice guy. He's funny, easy-going, seems to know what he's doing. America's still alive, so I'd say he's doing a good job. Now it just depends on how our next president does. If a crisis were to happen, no dout talk-show hosts would pull big-ol Georgie on their show and talk to him about what he thinks. Also, most of the people here talking about how he needs help. I bet if you asked those people one thing they politically don't like about George W. Bush, they wouldn't be able to say anything. They hear the public and their parents say how terrible Bush is, and just believe it and say the same things. I feel really, there is nothing wrong with President Bush.

I think that Bush will be plenty popular once he's out of office. One of the main reasons people voted for him in the first place, was the fact that he seems like a regular guy. Although, he's has put this country through a whole lot of controversal decisions and that may mean he might need help, like th eauthor said.

If not for 9-11 this country would be in great shape instead we had to go to war to protect this country and the freedom of YOU and every other american who shows no support.
